Welford Engineering provided all site/civil engineering and land survey services, from concept development to final design documents, for the 48,000 sf YMCA phase 1 facility recently opened in King George County. Services also included VSMP permitting and SWPPP inspections throughout construction. This facility includes a 25 meter pool, 2 court gymnasium, fitness center, youth wing, group fitness and cycling rooms. There is also a café with wi-fi access for members.

Welford Engineering also provided the site/civil engineering services for a new Rappahannock Area YMCA facility located in the Ladysmith Village subdivision of Caroline County. The YMCA will construct a brand new facility on an approximately 10 acre site within the community. This facility is unique in that it will not only be open to the public, but will become a part of the community amenities package for the property owners to enjoy. The facility is being planned for a total build out of 73,000 sf and will include classrooms, gymnasium, wellness center, and pool.

While simultaneously completing both new facility designs, Welford Engineering also designed an addition to the existing Spotsylvania YMCA which included a second pool and gymnasium.  Our team completed an existing conditions survey and developed a concept plan for a 33,400 sf addition, additional on-site parking, supplemental storm water management facilities, and new drop off/pick up facilities.  The project has been permitted and approved and will commence construction once financing is secured.
